It is the long term objective of NWT that the vast majority of membership payments should be made by electronically by card through the Payment Gateway with all routine communications being by email. This will allow the Membership Secretary to concentrate on resolving any individual issues as well as liasing with Members.
The Norfolk Wherry Trust takes your privacy and data protection seriously.
You can find our full privacy and data protection statement here on our main website.
This website only collects essential information about a user so that the primary function of the website (namely an online membership system) can be performed. The whole purpose of the website is to provide a efficient, cost-effective and easy to use system for both members and the Trust itself. Minimising the administration costs of the NWT ensures the best use of available resources.
Threfore, it is preferable for all members to be contacted through a personal email address. There are two situations where this may not be possible:
- A Member does not have access to IT equipment and/or does not wish to be contacted via electronic means.
- A Member opts out of use of their personal email account for NWT Membership.
In these cases, an internal individual email address is used to handle routine business events (e.g. renewal remainders, invoices and receipts) which are collated for the Membership Secretary to pass on as necessary by phone or letter.
Members’s email details are not passed to third parties other than as described below to permit the basic function of this website to be carried out. NWT may use Members’s email details to deliver newsletters and other electronic information about NWT and its activities – but a Member can opt out of receiving electronic mailings by ticking the relevant option within their online account or by emailing the Membership Secretary to set the relevant option.
This is a WordPress website and uses the MemberPress plug-in to provide the functionality required – as described here.
MemberPress does not store or process payment information locally. That information is securely transmitted to, and stored by the Payment Gateway itself.
